Closing and awarding ceremony of National Cheo Festival - 2025 in Bac Ninh

(BNP) - On the evening of November 2, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the closing ceremony, summary and award ceremony of the National Cheo Festival - 2025 at the Cultural - Exhibition Center of Bac Ninh province.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Festival Steering Committee; People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee; People's Artist Giang Manh Ha, Vice President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association; and leaders of departments and agencies under the Central Ministries and branches.

Bac Ninh provincial leaders attending the ceremony were Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Thi Hang; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Deputy Head of the Festival Steering Committee Mai Son.

The festival took place from October 20 to November 2, 2025, bringing together nearly 1,000 artists and actors from 12 professional Cheo art units nationwide with 21 outstanding performances.

The program was broadcast live and livestreamed on digital platforms of Bac Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television, as well as simultaneously rebroadcast on 17 Newspapers and Radio and Television in provinces and cities across the country.

In his closing speech, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong praised the contributions of art troupes, artists, directors, scriptwriters, musicians, painters, and technicians who made the festival a success. He affirmed that the National Cheo Festival is an opportunity to honor, preserve, and promote the value of traditional Cheo art, creating opportunities for exchange, learning, discovering, and nurturing young talents; at the same time, continuing to innovate creative thinking, investment, and support mechanisms so that Cheo art can spread strongly in contemporary life.

The Organizing Committee awards Gold Medals to outstanding artists and actors.

At the end of the Festival, the Organizing Committee awarded: Gold Medals to 2 plays: "Thien Menh" (Bac Ninh Cheo Theatre) and "Nguyen Van Cu - Tuoi Tre Chi Lon" (Army Cheo Theatre); Outstanding Artist Award to Meritorious Artist Quynh Mai (Bac Ninh Cheo Theatre) and Meritorious Artist Quoc Phong (Hanoi Cheo Theatre); 33 Gold Medals, 65 Silver Medals to performing artists; and many outstanding awards to creative elements such as authors, directors, art designers, choreographers, and art directors.
