Focus on developing science, innovation, and digital transformation to promote comprehensive development

(BNP) - On the afternoon of July 24, the Provincial Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation (referred to as the Steering Committee) held its first meeting. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Head of the Provincial Steering Committee Nguyen Van Gau chaired the meeting.

Also attending were Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee: Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC Nguyen Thi Huong; Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Viet Oanh; Deputy Secretary of the PPC Nguyen Huong Giang and members of the Provincial Steering Committee.

During the meeting, delegates heard the announcement of the decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the establishment of the Steering Committee on science, technology development, innovation and digital transformation of Bac Ninh province, consisting of 38 comrades.

Following the merger, the PPC, People's Council, and People's Committee clearly identified key political tasks for the direction and operation, with a focus on directing the implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57 on science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.

Through monitoring, there are 17 basic information systems and shared software that are operating stably, effectively serving the direction and administration of all levels of government and suitable for the two-level local government model of the new Bac Ninh province from July 1, 2025.

Currently, 100% of communes and wards are prepared to meet the 16/16 criteria for implementing the two-level local government model.

From July 1, 2025 to the present, the Central Government's new Operational Information System software has successfully connected, sent, and received documents to 100% of Party agencies and units, Party committees under the Provincial Party Committee, and documents in connection with the government system and Central agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son stated that the present information technology systems have been properly analyzed and selected, with the most superior platforms for deployment.  The province plans to organize cadre and civil servant training in the near future, as well as supplement equipment for commune and ward Public Administration Service Centers.

Concluding the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Van Gau acknowledged and praised the proactive spirit of the members of the Steering Committee, agencies, units, and localities in leading, directing, and implementing the digital transformation task since the province's merger.

He requested that the members of the Steering Committee continue to direct the assigned agencies, units and localities to regularly monitor and thoroughly grasp the leadership and direction documents of the Central and the province to raise awareness and actions of Party committees, authorities, cadres, Party members and people in performing the tasks of developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, effectively serving the new organization after the merger, etc.
