This is the 9th UNESCO World Heritage site in Vietnam and the 2nd inter-provincial World Heritage site in Vietnam, along with the Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago World Heritage Site (located in Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city).

The complex is assessed as a unified and interconnected heritage space that fully reflects the formation, development and far-reaching influence of Việt Nam’s unique cultural and spiritual values. It harmoniously combines tangible and intangible heritage with majestic natural landscapes and the country’s rich spiritual life.

The Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem, Con Son, and Kiep Bac complex includes a system of national special historical sites ranked by the Prime Minister (including: the Yen Tu complex, the Tran Dynasty historical site in Dong Trieu, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Bo Da Pagoda, the Con Son - Kiep Bac historical site, the An Phu - Kinh Chu - Nham Duong historical and scenic site), national historical sites ranked by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Thanh Mai Pagoda, etc.), and national treasures, artifacts, intangible cultural heritage, and traditional festivals in the area... along with the landscape of mountains, forests, and the cultural space of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac, which will be protected long-term, sustainably, and their value promoted in accordance with the Law on Cultural Heritage and the 1972 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

The inscription of the complex of historical relics also helps strengthen regional links between Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Bac Ninh, building a unified heritage space and contributing to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people. At the same time, this is another contribution from Vietnam to the goal of preserving and promoting heritage values that UNESCO is advocating. This honor and pride always come with responsibility, requiring all levels, sectors, and localities to raise awareness and implement practical and effective measures to preserve and promote the value of the heritage in accordance with the spirit of the World Heritage Convention and sustainable development.
