(BNP) - On the evening of January 6th, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for Key National Railway Projects, chaired the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee to assess and review the progress of the tasks. The meeting was held in person at the Government headquarters, connecting online to 18 provinces and cities.

Also attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee; Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son; and other members of the Steering Committee.

According to a report by the Ministry of Construction, several important national railway projects are currently being implemented nationwide, including: The North-South high-speed railway project; the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line; the Hanoi - Lang Son and Hai Phong - Mong Cai railway lines; and urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Of these, investment approval has been granted for two projects: The North-South high-speed railway and the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.

Bac Ninh province is implementing component project 7: Compensation, support, and resettlement for land clearance for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project. The section of the project passing through Bac Ninh province is approximately 3.76 km long, occupying an area of about 38.37 hectares across the wards of Phu Khe, Tu Son, and Song Lieu.

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ministry of Construction and other relevant ministries, sectors, and localities for their serious, responsible, diligent, and proactive efforts in implementing the assigned tasks.
Speaking in conclusion, the Prime Minister requested the Steering Committee, relevant ministries, branches, and localities to proactively deploy tasks, coordinate according to assigned functions, tasks, and powers, and whoever is under their authority must do it.
The Prime Minister requested to urgently report on the project to restructure the Vietnam Railways Corporation and assign this Corporation to build a project to develop the railway industry.
Government leaders also assigned specific tasks to ministries, branches, and localities in implementing specific railway projects.
