(BNP) - On the morning of June 12th, in Thuan Thanh ward, SunGroup Corporation held a launch ceremony for the project connecting Gia Binh International Airport with Hanoi (the section passing through Bac Ninh province). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders from various departments, agencies, and localities where the road passes through.

The project connecting Gia Binh International Airport with Hanoi (the section passing through Bac Ninh province) is being implemented under the PPP model, a build-transfer (BT) contract, with a total investment of over VND 25,087 billion. The road, approximately 18.8 km long, runs from Gia Binh commune to Tri Qua ward. It features a 120m wide cross-section with 10 lanes, an interconnected interchange system, pedestrian underpasses, lighting, and integrated intelligent transportation infrastructure (ITS).
The project utilizes approximately 412.6 hectares of land, passing through six communes and wards: Gia Binh, Lam Thao, Mao Dien, Tram Lo, Thuan Thanh, and Tri Qua. The implementation period is 30 months, with the main route to be substantially completed and ready for operation before the APEC 2027 Conference. The investor is a consortium of Cong Thanh Transportation Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company and Cam Pha Sun Group Co., Ltd.

Upon completion, the road will form a direct connection axis between Gia Binh International Airport and Hanoi, contributing to the completion of strategic transportation infrastructure, enhancing the operational efficiency of Gia Binh Airport, and simultaneously creating momentum for urban, industrial, and logistics development, as well as serving important diplomatic events, including the APEC 2027 Conference.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh emphasized that the project connecting Gia Binh International Airport with Hanoi is a strategic transportation infrastructure project of significant importance to Bac Ninh province, the Capital region, and the entire country.

To ensure the road is completed within 12 months, the Vice Chairman requested the investor and contractor to focus maximum resources and apply modern construction solutions; Local authorities are accelerating land clearance work, striving to hand over clean land by July 2026, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people. At the same time, they are strengthening coordination during construction to minimize impacts on people's lives, ensure labor safety, traffic safety, environmental protection, and maximize the efficiency of waterway transport in material delivery.
The Vice Chairman expressed confidence that with the determination and cooperation of the relevant units, the project will be completed on schedule, contributing to the effective development of the national key transportation infrastructure system and promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
The construction contractor is mobilizing vehicles and machinery and is committed to accelerating the project's implementation progress.
