Launching ceremony of emulation movement “Determined to successfully achieve double-digit sustainable growth targets for period 2026 - 2030”

(BNP) - On the morning of June 13th, in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Minh Hung, Member of the Political Bureau, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council, presided over the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Determined to successfully achieve the goal of double-digit sustainable growth in the period 2026 - 2030". The launching ceremony was held in a live online format connecting the main venue to provinces and centrally-administered cities.

Attending the launching ceremony were: Pham Gia Tuc, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Deputy Prime Minister; Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice President, First Vice Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council; Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Prime Minister; members of the Central Committee of the Party, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, central and local departments, ministries, and agencies.

Provincial leaders attending the meeting at Bac Ninh’s venue were Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Emulation and Commendation Council, along with leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and units.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung delivered a speech launching the emulation movement.

In his speech launching the emulation movement, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized the goal of transforming Vietnam into a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030, and a developed country with high income by 2045; striving to maintain an economic growth rate of 10% or more per year during the 2026-2030 period.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the country needs a strong renewal of thinking and implementation methods with the motto: “Strategic Vision - Breakthrough Thinking - Decisive Action - Sustainable Growth - People's Happiness”. He also called on the entire political system, the business community, and the people to focus on effectively implementing key tasks such as perfecting institutions, reforming administrative procedures, removing bottlenecks, promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, and enhancing national competitiveness.

In addition, ministries, sectors, and localities need to develop synchronous and modern infrastructure; definitively resolve outstanding projects; build a professional administration that serves the people and businesses; practice thrift, combat waste, and improve the efficiency of using national resources.

The Prime Minister requested that economic development be linked with ensuring national defense and security, expanding foreign relations, developing culture, education, health, social welfare, and environmental protection; ensuring that economic growth goes hand in hand with social progress and equity, and improving the quality of life for the people.

The Prime Minister affirmed that this is a message that spreads the spirit of innovation, the aspiration for development, and the spirit of emulation to all levels, sectors, businesses, and people nationwide.

The Prime Minister requested that ministries, sectors, and localities concretize the movement with practical action programs and plans, linked to the political tasks of each agency and unit; using the results of task implementation as a measure of the effectiveness of the emulation. He also expressed confidence that the movement will create new momentum, strongly awaken the will for self-reliance and self-improvement, the aspiration to contribute, and help build a rapidly developing, sustainable, prosperous, and happy country.

At the conference, the Prime Minister and delegates officially launched the emulation movement "Determined to successfully achieve double-digit sustainable growth targets for the period 2026-2030". Representatives from localities, ministries, sectors, and the business community responded enthusiastically, demonstrating their determination to implement comprehensive solutions to achieve rapid and sustainable growth in the new period.
