Accelerating progress of Gia Binh International Airport Project

(BNP) - The Ministry of Construction has issued a document requesting its affiliated units to urgently coordinate the implementation of the Gia Binh International Airport construction project and the road connecting Gia Binh Airport to Hanoi to ensure the completion of items serving the APEC 2027 Summit.

Regarding the Gia Binh International Airport Project and air traffic control facilities, the Ministry of Construction has assigned the State Inspection Department for Construction Quality to guide the investor in carrying out acceptance procedures under a special mechanism, ensuring the quality and progress of the project. At the same time, the project and air traffic control facilities will be added to the list of projects monitored by the Acceptance Inspection Council.

The Department of Economic and Investment Management is responsible for urging investors to complete design documents after the basic design phase, and to develop overall and detailed schedules according to Gantt charts to serve as a basis for monitoring and controlling implementation progress. This unit is also tasked with compiling periodic reports and promptly advising competent authorities.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is tasked with monitoring and urging the completion of essential items serving airport operations, especially technical infrastructure systems such as electricity, water supply and drainage, and communication and signaling. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Construction will coordinate with the Mobile Police Command (K02), the investor, and relevant agencies to ensure the operational conditions for the APEC 2027 Summit.

Regarding the project connecting Gia Binh Airport with Hanoi, the Ministry of Construction has assigned the Department of Economic and Investment Management to lead the coordination with the Railway Project Management Board, the investor, and relevant agencies in Hanoi and Bac Ninh to resolve any obstacles and conflicts during implementation. The Vietnam Road Administration is tasked with resolving issues related to the overlapping section with the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway, including traffic diversion plans, expansion, and operation of the route.

The Ministry of Construction requires relevant units to report on implementation results before the 25th of each month for compilation, monitoring, and timely reporting to competent authorities, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule.
