(BNP) - On April 15th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province inaugurated the Book and Reading Culture Festival with the theme "Books - Knowledge - Aspiration for National Development" at Bac Ninh Library No. 2 (Kinh Bac ward).

In his opening remarks, Mr. Khong Duc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province, emphasized: The Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, organized annually by Bac Ninh province, has become a "festival for book lovers" and an opportunity to spread reading culture and encourage the development of reading movements in the community. The annual Book and Reading Culture Day has truly become a festival for book lovers, a beautiful cultural tradition embraced and honored by the community.

The 2026 Book and Reading Culture Festival at Bac Ninh Library No. 2 will take place over two days, April 14–15, 2026, and will feature a variety of rich and appealing events, including: Setting up "Our Uncle Ho"-themed competitions for elementary and secondary school pupils in Kinh Bac and Bac Giang wards. These include a history test for secondary school students, an art book model construction competition, and a drawing competition for elementary school kids (grades 4 and 5).
Bac Ninh Library No. 2 donates books to primary and secondary schools participating in the event.
The program also featured an author exchange introducing the book “How I Read Books” by Nguyen Duy Ha, published by the Women's Publishing House in 2026. In addition, two thematic talks on “Culture of Behavior and Safety in Cyberspace” were held, with the participation of students from junior high schools in Kinh Bac and Bac Giang wards.

The festival offers readers, especially students, many enriching experiences, contributing to fostering a love of reading and providing opportunities to access and enhance knowledge for learning.
