(BNP) - Within the framework of the FDI Connection forum 2026 held in Bac Ninh province this afternoon (April 24), two high-level dialogue sessions titled "Reposition the supply chain, break through internal capacity to attract new capital flows" and "Upgrade Vietnamese enterprises to become tier-1 suppliers in the FDI value chain" attracted the attention of numerous delegates, economic experts, business associations, and the domestic and foreign investor community.

Participants in the dialogue sessions included Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh; Deputy Director General of the Foreign Investment Agency (Ministry of Finance) Vuong Thi Minh Hieu; Director of the Industrial Development Support Center (Vietnam Industry Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade) Chu Viet Cuong; leaders of business associations, and large domestic and international corporations and enterprises.
High-level dialogue session 1 focused on strategically analyzing new movements in the global supply chain amid a volatile world economy, where investment shift trends were becoming increasingly clear and requirements for green and sustainable development had become inevitable standards.
Delegates agreed that this was a crucial time for Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh in particular to reposition their roles in the regional supply chain, leveraging geographical advantages, industrial infrastructure, human resources, and a favorable investment environment to welcome the new generation of FDI waves. Therefore, to attract high-quality capital flows, the locality should continue strongly improving the business investment environment, accelerating digital transformation, developing modern logistics infrastructure, improving the quality of human resources, and prioritizing high-tech, environmentally friendly projects with high added value.

Sharing at the dialogue session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh emphasized the determination and proactive solutions of Bac Ninh province in attracting investment. Accordingly, Bac Ninh was always ready with clean land funds to create favorable conditions for investors to implement projects quickly; encouraging existing enterprises to expand production and invest on-site; while prioritizing the attraction of leading and key projects, especially in semiconductors and high-quality electronics.
The Vice Chairman stated that Bac Ninh possessed outstanding advantages in developing the electronics industry along with many emerging industrial sectors with the presence of many large multinational corporations. On that foundation, the province was focusing on building a synchronous ecosystem for the semiconductor and electronics industries, from manufacturing components and testing equipment in the production chain to related fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), biomedicine, aviation components, and green energy.
To attract strategic investors, Bac Ninh paid special attention to accompanying the business community operating in the area, considering the timely removal of difficulties and obstacles for enterprises as the most practical and effective investment promotion solution. He affirmed that Bac Ninh province would continue its efforts to improve the business investment environment, enhance competitiveness, promote logistics advantages, and form strategic link clusters consistent with global high-tech development trends.

In high-level dialogue session 2, experts and businesses focused on exchanging and analyzing the cooperation model between FDI and domestic enterprises; sharing experiences and secrets to maintaining and developing businesses as well as clarifying opportunities and challenges in the process of participating in the global supply chain.
Additionally, a topic of interest at the dialogue was how to position businesses and understand customers in a modern industrial production environment. According to experts, Vietnamese enterprises should clearly define their core competencies, choose appropriate market segments, and grasp consumption trends and requirements of international partners to build long-term development strategies. Along with that, focus should be placed on improving localization capacity, helping businesses develop, upgrade their positions, and gradually become high-level suppliers in the value chain of the FDI sector.
The two high-level dialogue sessions at the FDI Connection forum 2026 provided many strategic perspectives, practical experiences, and feasible solutions to improve the competitiveness of the economy and increase linkages between the domestic business sector and the FDI investment sector./.
