(BNP) - According to information from the Department of Education and Training, at the 2026 Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2026) held in Busan (South Korea) from May 17-25, Bac Ninh province had a student, Ta Ngoc Minh, a 12th-grade student from Bac Ninh High School for Gifted, who excellently won a Silver Medal. This is a remarkable achievement of Bac Ninh students on the international stage, further affirming the quality of advanced education and the tradition of studiousness of the province.

In particular, Ta Ngoc Minh achieved 37 points, the second highest score among the Vietnamese team participating in APhO 2026. Prior to this, in two consecutive academic years (2024-2025 and 2025-2026), Ta Ngoc Minh won first prize in the National Physics Olympiad for gifted students. Furthermore, during the second round of preparation, she was highly praised for her comprehensive knowledge base, strong analytical skills, and confidence in her performance.

At the 2026 Asian Physics Olympiad, all 8 participating Vietnamese students won medals; including 6 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze Medals. With this result, Vietnam is among the top 8 teams with the highest scores and is in the group of 5 teams with 100% of participating students winning medals. Leading the Vietnamese team is Nguyen Nhat Minh, an 11th-grade student from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Hanoi University of Science, with 37.35 points.

The remaining Silver Medal winners are from the following schools: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students; Le Hong Phong High School for Gifted Students (Ninh Binh province); Hung Vuong High School for Gifted Students (Phu Tho province); and Bien Hoa High School for Gifted Students (Ninh Binh province). Two students won Bronze Medals, both 11th-grade students from Lam Son High School for Gifted Students (Thanh Hoa province).
Based on the results of the Asian Physics Olympiad and the results of the second round of the competition, the Ministry of Education and Training will select the 05 best-performing contestants to participate in the International Physics Olympiad in Colombia from July 4-12, 2026.
