Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi meets and works with KOICA (Korea)

(BNP) - On the afternoon of January 13th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi held a meeting with the KOICA (Korea), led by Ms. Song Eun Eui, Deputy Director of the KOICA Office in Vietnam, to discuss the implementation plan for the project "Vocational training linked to employment for vulnerable groups in war-affected areas and Vietnamese youth by supporting the Vietnam-Korea Bac Giang College of Technology in developing talent and skilled labor" (Project).

The project aims to connect the training of skilled labor to serve industrial development both domestically and internationally, was planned for implementation by KOICA starting in 2023 and involved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the People's Committee of Bac Giang province (formerly) in April 2025, with implementation expected to continue until the end of 2029.

The project's objectives include training skilled talent in Vietnamese industries; strengthening the capacity of instructors through training programs in South Korea and Vietnam; training highly skilled workers; supporting infrastructure and equipment for the shipbuilding and core industries; and supporting employment for highly skilled workers in Vietnam and South Korea.

During the meeting, Ms. Song Eun Eui presented the progress of cooperation and the implementation of project contents according to KOICA's plan from 2023 to the present; the orientation and plan for the next steps of the project in the coming time; and KOICA's plan and strategy to support the development of vocational education and human resources in Vietnam in general and the northern region in particular.

KOICA requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider and promptly approve the project document as a basis for signing the Project Discussion Minutes; direct relevant departments and agencies to continue coordinating closely with the School during the implementation phase; create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and procedures to accelerate the project's progress, ensuring the effective use of ODA funds, and contributing to the development of high-quality technical human resources for the province.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi thanked the KOICA delegation for proactively carrying out preparatory activities and implementing the project since 2023 according to the strategic plan of the Korean side as well as maintaining regular and active coordination with provincial agencies throughout the project implementation period.

The Vice Chairman expressed his hope that the project would become an effective cooperation model, helping to improve the quality of vocational training, linking training to long-term employment, and serving as a foundation for future collaboration with KOICA and Korean partners in vocational education, human resource development, and social welfare.

The Vice Chairman requested that KOICA continue to cooperate closely and work alongside provincial agencies and the Vietnam-Korea Bac Giang College of Technology to complete the project procedures.

The Provincial People's Committee is committed to paying attention to and directing relevant departments and agencies to take the lead and closely coordinate with the Vietnam-Korea Bac Giang College of Technology and KOICA to promptly complete the necessary procedures, promote the implementation of the project on schedule, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and achievement of objectives, striving to complete the project and put it into operation by September 2026.
