Japanese delegation visits lychee growing area in Phuong Son

(BNP) - On the morning of June 15th, a Japanese delegation led by Mr. Yushita Hiroyuki visited and worked in the lychee growing area of ​​Phuong Son. Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Mai Son, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and localities.

Representatives from the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the leaders of Phuong Son ward exchange experiences in lychee production with Mr. Yushita Hiroyuki.

The delegation surveyed the lychee orchard of Mr. Do Van Sinh in Phi Le residential area, which produces according to VietGAP standards. According to local leaders, Phuong Son is a key lychee producing area of ​​the province with an area of ​​3,460 hectares, and an estimated production of over 14,200 tons in 2026. The entire province currently has 40 export-oriented growing areas to Japan with an area of ​​nearly 337 hectares; Phuong Son alone has 10 approved growing areas with an area of ​​89.48 hectares.

Local leaders stated that in recent years, they have focused on developing lychee growing areas in a safe manner, improving quality, strengthening traceability, and controlling product quality to meet the requirements of the export market. The survey took place in the context of Bac Ninh province promoting international trade and expanding the market for lychees and other key agricultural products in Japan.

Members of the delegation highly appreciated the scale of the growing area, the quality of the lychees, and the local government's management of growing area codes and traceability; they also affirmed their commitment to continuing to support business connections, promote Vietnamese agricultural products, and seek suitable cooperation opportunities in the future.

During the meeting with the delegation, the Standing Vice Chairman stated that Japan is one of Bac Ninh's leading important partners. Currently, the province has 126 investment projects from Japanese businesses with a total registered capital of approximately USD 2.1 billion. At the same time, it was emphasized that Bac Ninh is focusing on developing a modern, green, and sustainable agriculture, and expressed the desire for Japanese businesses to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, trade, and agricultural product exports.

On this occasion, the Japanese delegation presented picture books and souvenirs to students of Phuong Son Primary School. At the same time, the Standing Vice Chairman also presented Dong Ho folk paintings to the Japanese delegation.
