(BNP) - At the Asian Mathematics Competition (AIMO) 2025 recently held in Japan, Bac Ninh province had 01 excellent student winning the Gold Medal in the Secondary School exam.

Nguyen Hoang Duc Anh, a student of Class 9A1 at Le Quy Don Secondary School in Bac Giang Ward, achieved remarkable success. At the 2025 National Round Competition, he was one of only two Vietnamese 9th-grade students to win a Gold Medal. Furthermore, he was among five students selected to represent Vietnam’s 9th-grade team at the final round of the Asian Mathematical Arena held in Japan.
The Asian Mathematical Olympiad is organized annually by the International AIMO Executive Committee of the Asian Mathematical Olympiad Association since 2012. In 2019, for the first time, Vietnam had students participating in the competition.
In 2025, the final round of the competition saw the participation of over 3,500 candidates from 21 countries and territories across Asia. Contestants competed in the mathematics exam, conducted in English, through a direct written format. All 22 members of the Vietnamese delegation won awards, including one Champion prize. Notably, the highest score in the High School category was achieved by a 12th-grade student from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.
