Awarding and handing over youth projects and gifts worth over VND 500 million to Sa Ly commune

(BNP) - On January 25th, the Youth Union, the Federation of Youth Associations, and the Children's Council of Kinh Bac, Nam Son, Hap Linh, Vo Cuong, and Tu Son wards, in coordination with the Bac Ninh Young Entrepreneurs Association in the Kinh Bac region, organized the "Winter Volunteer Program 2025 - Spring Volunteer Program 2026" and the "I Love My Homeland" volunteer journey in Sa Ly commune, Bac Ninh province.

Sa Ly is a remote, mountainous commune in Bac Ninh province, covering an area of ​​84 square kilometers with 6,352 households. Ethnic minorities account for over 70% of the population, primarily the San Chi and Tay ethnic groups. Over the years, the Party Committee, government, and people of the commune have strived to promote socio-economic development, care for education and healthcare, and improve the lives of the people. However, the commune's socio-economic situation still faces many difficulties; the poverty rate remains high (7.05%), and the near-poverty rate is 11.69%; infrastructure, learning conditions, and transportation for the children of the local people are still limited.

At the program, the Youth Union, Federation of Youth Associations and Children's Councils of Kinh Bac, Nam Son, Hap Linh, Vo Cuong and Tu Son wards, in coordination with the Bac Ninh Young Entrepreneurs Association in the Kinh Bac area and Bac Ninh Medical College, donated warm blankets, socks, clothes, shoes, notebooks, study lamps, school bags and other learning materials worth over VND 213 million; donated milk and instant noodles worth over VND 62 million; and presented 104 gift packages to poor households and 170 gift packages to near-poor households, and 11 packages to orphans in Sa Ly commune, with a total value of over VND 157 million. In particular, they donated a youth project to pave the road leading to Sa Ly 2 Primary School with concrete, named "The Road of Dreams," worth VND 70 million.

The Organizing Committee presents gifts to disadvantaged families in the commune.

The total value of youth projects and gifts presented at the program was over VND 500 million, funded by contributions from youth union members in 5 wards and support from organizations and businesses in the province.

On this occasion, the Youth Unions of 5 wards and the Youth Union of Sa Ly commune organized exchanges and learning sessions to improve the effectiveness of Youth Union activities, along with many cultural and artistic exchange activities and film screenings for the local people.
