(BNP) - Over time, with many restorations, up to now Phu Luu communal house (Phu Luu quarter, Tu Son ward, Bac Ninh province) still retains its ancient architectural features from ancient times. This place is a cultural and religious activity spot for local people and attracts a large number of tourists to visit and explore the typical cultural features of the Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac land.
Phu Luu communal house was built a long time ago, in the 16th century, by the local old mandarin and military general Le Tran Co who stood up to raise funds for construction. The communal house worshipped the Tam Giang saints, namely Truong Hong and Truong Hat, two generals of Trieu Quang Phục, who made great contributions in the resistance war against the Luong army in the 6th century, and worshipped military general Le Tran Co. The communal house was built on a campus of more than 2,600 m2, including the main categories: Gate, front ceremonial hall, great communal hall, back sanctuary and auxiliary works.
The communal house gate was built in the three-door style including a main door and side doors on 2 sides, embossed and decorated with flowers, leaves, sacred animals, couplets, etc.
The front ceremonial hall consists of 5 compartments, with a mossy, ancient tiled roof, etc.
On both sides is a pair of stone lions paying homage.
The great communal hall is quite massive, consisting of 5 compartments, 2 wings and 2 lean-tos, with a lim wood frame, tiled roof, lemon flower edges, and 4 curved, elegant blade ends.
On the beams, planks, con, door hammock, etc., the images of four sacred animals, four precious plants, human figures, and four-legged beasts were delicately carved. The carvings on the planks of a pair of dragons paying homage, with the figure of a fairy with phoenix wings on the back, a person playing the lute, a fairy sitting on a nghe's head on the con pillar, a group of people racing boats, wrestling scenes in the spring festival... bore the imprint of the Le dynasty carving style.
The floor is entirely paved with ancient blue stone.
The back sanctuary.
Currently, the communal house still preserves 27 royal certificates of honor from dynasties along with many valuable ancient artifacts such as worshiping thrones, incense burners, horizontal lacquered boards, couplets, etc.
In the communal house, a fairly large wooden fish-shaped tocsin is still preserved. In the past, some villages in the region had large musical instruments, such as the Drum of Cho village (Yen Phong), the Gong of Cho village (Tam Son), which were considered symbols, so folklore had a common saying: "drum of Cho, gong of Cho, tocsin of Phu Luu".
In particular, Phu Luu communal house had the honor of welcoming Uncle Ho to visit on November 7, 1946.
In the communal house campus, there is a Bodhi tree recognized as a Heritage tree in October 2016, adding to the sacred and ancient beauty of the communal house.
Next to the communal house is Phu Luu pagoda - a national historical and cultural relic.
Every year, from the 8th to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, the local authorities and people organized a festival to commemorate the merits of the village's Guardian Gods, praying for favorable rain and harmonious wind, national peace and public prosperity, etc. Phu Luu communal house was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic according to Decision No. 138/QD, dated January 31, 1992./.
