(BNP) - The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan on developing digital economy and digital society in Bac Ninh province for the period 2026 - 2030.

The Plan’s objective is to contribute to turning Bac Ninh into a center of high-tech industry, smart city and one of the leading localities in the country in developing digital economy, digital society and digital transformation.
Regarding the digital economy, the province strives for the digital economy to account for 45% of the province's GRDP in the 2026 - 2030 period; each year, 05 high-quality open data sets will be developed to serve the development of the digital economy and digital society. By 2030, Bac Ninh province will have at least 20 open data sets published to serve the development of the digital economy and digital society. The rate of local small and medium-sized enterprises applying digital technology will reach 60%. The rate of enterprises with innovation activities will reach at least 40%.
Regarding digital society, by 2030, the percentage of users with access to fixed broadband at a speed of 01 Gb/s will reach 100%. 5G coverage in the area will reach 100% of the population. The percentage of people with basic network protection will reach 80%. The percentage of people with electronic identification accounts (VNeID) will reach 80%. The percentage of people aged 15 and over with transaction accounts at banks or other licensed organizations will reach 95%.
To achieve the Plan's goals, the Provincial People's Committee continues to direct the consolidation and effective operation of the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation Development and Project 06 of the province. Promote public-private cooperation, order Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to develop digital infrastructure and digital platforms to serve people and businesses.
Proactively expand international cooperation, utilize global resources to serve the development of the digital economy and digital society in a practical and selective manner, for the national interest. Attract advanced digital knowledge and technology from international organizations and enterprises to Bac Ninh province in conjunction with technology transfer and human resource development, ensuring compliance with the orientation of the Plan.
Prioritize the development of key digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital copies, blockchain, big data, virtual reality, etc. combined with open technology and open source code. Promote mass communication, popularize digital skills training, and apply digital platforms to people and businesses; develop support channels such as consulting, Q&A, and virtual assistants so that everyone can understand, use, and benefit from digital technology.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to preside over and advise on perfecting institutions, mechanisms, and policies for developing the digital economy and digital society; organize and implement tasks on developing digital infrastructure, digital platforms, digital data, and digital human resources in the province.
Build, develop, manage, and operate digital infrastructure, digital platforms, shared data warehouses, and open data portals of the province; guide agencies, units, and localities to connect, share, exploit, and publish open data to ensure compliance with legal regulations on protecting state secrets, network security, and personal data./.
