Bac Ninh strengthens efforts against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods in new situation

(BNP) - The Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) of Bac Ninh province has just issued Official Document No. 15/CV-BCĐ389 on strengthening the fight against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods in the new situation.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee 389 of the province requests member departments and agencies to continue to strictly and effectively implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the National Steering Committee 389 on the prevention and control of smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods.

Enhancing effectiveness and creating breakthroughs in the fight against smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement; Enhance management capacity, clearly define responsibilities, functions, and tasks, avoid overlapping or neglecting duties, and prevent gaps in state management.

Direct subordinate units and functional forces to take the lead in coordinating and promptly detecting, combating, and effectively handling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement, especially concerning petroleum products.

Promptly compile and report to the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to propose to the National Steering Committee 389 for commendation of collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in detecting and apprehending major and complex cases of trading, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement. Simultaneously, strictly punish officials and civil servants who abet those who violate the law.

The Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province is tasked with strengthening the management of licensing activities, inspection, and supervision of compliance with regulations in the petroleum business; promptly detect and handle businesses trading in petroleum products that do not comply with regulations.

The Provincial Market Management Department strengthens its management of the area, closely inspects and monitors petroleum business activities; strictly handles violations such as speculation, hoarding, trading in petroleum products that do not meet quality standards or have unclear origins.

The Provincial Public Security directs its subordinate units to use a comprehensive range of professional measures, gather information, conduct investigations, collect intelligence, and establish special cases for decisive action; promptly detect, prevent, arrest, and strictly handle those involved in smuggling, transporting, and illegally trading petroleum products, and those illegally mixing solvents into petroleum products for illicit profit.

The Provincial Department of Science and Technology takes the lead in coordinating with relevant units to strengthen inspections and sample collection at petroleum retail outlets, focusing on surprise inspections of the quality and measurement of petroleum products circulating in the market; Strictly handle violations related to the production and sale of counterfeit and substandard gasoline and diesel fuel.

In addition, the Tax and Customs departments, along with other relevant units, are tasked with strengthening coordination in inspecting and monitoring gasoline and diesel fuel business activities; promoting public awareness campaigns to combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.

The Provincial Steering Committee 389 requests that member departments and agencies seriously organize and implement these measures, contributing to maintaining market stability, protecting consumer rights, and promoting socio-economic development in the province in the new situation.
