Ministry of Construction conducts field survey to finalize Bac Ninh City Master Plan until 2050

(BNP) - On July 16th, a working delegation from the Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van, conducted a field survey in several key areas of the province to support the appraisal of the Bac Ninh City Master Plan until 2050, with a vision to 2075.

The delegation conducts a field survey and discussed the spatial organization and development of the logistics infrastructure system within the Bắc Ninh urban master plan.

The delegation conducted field inspections at the Den Do Special National Relic Site in Tu Son ward, the second campus of Hanoi Law University in Dong Nguyen ward, Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Samsung Electronics Vietnam in the Yen Phong and Yen Phong II-C industrial parks in Yen Phong commune.

During the inspections, the delegation reviewed the current status and future development orientations for the province's education and training system, assessed transport connectivity between Ha Noi and Bac Ninh, and examined plans to preserve and promote the value of cultural and historical heritage. The visit also provided an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the development of Bac Ninh's industrial parks and the implementation of high-tech manufacturing projects across the province.

In the province's central urban area, the delegation visited Vinpearl Hotel Bac Ninh in Kinh Bac ward, the administrative center of Bac Giang ward, and Dam Pagoda in Nam Son ward. The visits provided a comprehensive overview of the province's urban landscape, landmark developments, administrative infrastructure, and the integration of modern urban development with the preservation and promotion of the cultural identity of the Bac Ninh – Kinh Bac region.

Later the same day, the delegation continued its field survey at Tan Cang Que Vo Inland Port in Phu Lang commune, Gia Bình International Airport in Gia Binh commune, Hong Hac City Urban Area in Song Lieu ward, and key development zones south of the Duong River. These strategic locations are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping new growth corridors and economic hubs, while strengthening connectivity among urban centres, industrial zones, inland ports, the international airport, and the region's transport network.

The delegation conducts a survey and works at the Samsung Electronics Vietnam factory in the Yen Phong Industrial Park.

At the program, delegates listened to the consulting unit present the orientation of the Bac Ninh urban master plan, including the overall spatial development structure, urban spatial organization, and the planning of the Gia Thuan urban area in the South Duong River sub-area. They also watched a film introducing the scale of Gia Binh International Airport and the development orientation of the urban area south of the Duong River.

According to the research orientation, the Bac Ninh urban master plan is developed for the entire administrative boundary of the province with an area of ​​approximately 4,718.6 km², developing according to a "multi-polar - multi-center" model, linked with public transportation and ecological landscape axes along the Cau River, Duong River, and Thuong River.

The urban space of central Bac Ninh is being studied for synchronized connection with the province's growth poles and strategic infrastructure system.

Speaking at the survey, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van and members of the working delegation highly appreciated Bac Ninh province's urban development orientation, infrastructure, and spatial organization, especially the comprehensive planning of urban areas, high-tech industrial zones, logistics centers, Gia Binh International Airport, inter-regional transportation systems, and cultural preservation spaces, creating a foundation for the province to fulfill the criteria to become a centrally-governed city.

The working delegation will continue to coordinate and support the province in reviewing and finalizing the Bac Ninh urban master plan, ensuring consistency with provincial planning, sectoral planning, and the development orientation of the Hanoi Capital Region.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh thanked the Ministry of Construction and the working group for their attention and valuable contributions to the Bac Ninh urban master plan.

He affirmed that the province will fully incorporate the feedback, direct specialized agencies and consulting units to promptly finalize the planning documents; and expressed his hope that the Ministry of Construction will continue to support the appraisal process and submit the Bac Ninh urban master plan to the Prime Minister for approval until 2050, with a vision to 2075, creating a foundation for the province to soon become a centrally-governed city.
