(BNP) - On the afternoon of May 11th, a delegation from the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee, led by Comrade Phan Van Mai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee, held a working session to survey the implementation of the double-digit economic growth target in Bac Ninh province.

The delegation included Deputy Chairpersons of the Economic and Financial Committee Nguyen Ngoc Bao and Pham Thuy Chinh; full-time members of the Economic and Financial Committee; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Law and Justice Committee; full-time Deputy Heads of the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Ninh province Tran Van Tuan and Tran Thi Van; along with representatives and specialists from the Economic and Financial Department under the Ministry of Finance.
Receiving and working with the delegation on the Bac Ninh provincial side were Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong reported on the results of implementing socio-economic development goals associated with the task of achieving double-digit growth in Bac Ninh province.
He stated that the province has focused on decisively and comprehensively leading and directing the tasks and solutions for economic development with high political determination, identifying double-digit growth as the central task throughout the 2026-2030 period.
The province has issued numerous resolutions, action programs, and comprehensive implementation plans; focusing on implementing 31 key programs and projects, and prioritizing resources for 56 key projects and infrastructure works.
In 2025, the province's GRDP is projected to reach 10.27%; in the first quarter of 2026, it is estimated to reach 9.82%, ranking 5th nationwide. Total import and export turnover in 2025 is expected to reach approximately USD 181 billion, continuing to lead the country; attracting nearly USD 20 billion in investment.

The province is accelerating administrative reform and digital transformation, while implementing the “24-hour green lane” and “60% green lane” mechanisms to improve the investment and business environment. At the same time, Bac Ninh is promoting the strong development of transport, logistics, industrial, and urban infrastructure. The province is also focusing on socio-cultural development, enhancing the quality of human resources, and preparing the necessary conditions to become a centrally governed city before 2030, he added.

During the meeting, delegates focused on analyzing the achievements, frankly pointing out difficulties and obstacles such as the pressure to maintain high growth, the slow progress of some projects, and difficulties in land clearance in some areas.
Bac Ninh province has requested the Politburo, the National Assembly, and the Government to continue improving mechanisms and policies on land, decentralization, digital transformation, removing difficulties in investment, land clearance, social housing, and creating conditions for the province to soon become a centrally-governed city.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Pham Hoang Son proposed that the Central Government continue to pay attention to addressing difficulties related to mechanisms and policies on investment, land, construction materials, the organization of the two-tier local government model, and the supplementation of human resources at the grassroots level, thereby creating favorable conditions for the locality to effectively achieve its development goals in the coming period.

Also at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Hong Tha expressed his appreciation to the delegation for their responsible and dedicated contributions to Bac Ninh province. He also expressed his hope that the delegation would continue to pay attention to and compile practical difficulties and obstacles in order to propose improvements to mechanisms and policies to the Central Government, thereby creating favorable conditions for the province’s development.
In his concluding remarks, Comrade Phan Van Mai highly appreciated Bac Ninh province’s serious preparation and strong sense of responsibility. He emphasized the need for the province to continue improving the quality of growth, reduce dependence on FDI, and promote the development of the private sector and high-value service industries. He also stressed the importance of completing planning work, effectively utilizing strategic infrastructure, and reviewing the two-tier local government model to ensure it aligns with practical conditions.
He noted that the working group would synthesize the province’s recommendations and report them to central agencies for consideration, thereby creating more favorable conditions for Bac Ninh’s sustainable development and contributing positively to the country’s overall development.
