Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pushes accelerated implementation of national key projects and priority projects

(BNP) - On the morning of January 30th, Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the State Steering Committee for National Key Projects and Projects in the Transport Sector, chaired the 23rd online meeting of the Steering Committee.

The conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee; leaders of ministries, agencies, enterprises and relevant project management boards and contractors. The conference was held online with several provinces and cities. Attending the conference at the Bac Ninh’s venue were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong; and leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.

In 2025, ministries, sectors, and localities, especially the members of the Steering Committee and the supporting specialized agencies, demonstrated a high level of effort, determination, and decisiveness in organizing and implementing tasks. Many important projects and works were completed and put into operation, creating a clear mark of the 2021-2025 period and recording a significant leap forward in the development of the transportation infrastructure system.

During the year, ministries, sectors, and localities successfully organized three inauguration ceremonies, groundbreaking ceremonies, and technical opening ceremonies for major national socio-economic infrastructure development projects. A total of 564 projects were implemented in 34 provinces and cities, with a total investment of over VND 5.14 trillion.

The Ministry of Construction announced that at the 22nd meeting of the Steering Committee on December 9, 2025, the Prime Minister, Head of the Steering Committee, assigned 31 tasks to ministries, agencies, and localities. Ministries, agencies, localities, and units have made great efforts to organize and implement the tasks, completing 13 out of 18 tasks on time. They have also actively implemented the remaining 13 tasks, including 5 tasks that are part of ongoing management and supervision, and 8 tasks that have not yet reached their deadlines.

Speaking at the Bac Ninh’s venue, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong gave a brief report on the Gia Binh International Airport building project and related projects. In order to guarantee that the project's advancement satisfies the demands of the central government, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has released a plan that specifies the work content and precise completion dates.

For the Gia Binh International Airport project and related developments, the province has determined that land clearance is crucial and will directly affect the project's advancement. Bac Ninh province has concentrated its leadership and direction during this time, organizing more than 700 officials and staff members from several departments and units to take part in land clearance activities. As of right now, the investor has been given around 1,000 hectares for building; land surveys have been finished, impacting about 7,800 households spread over 17 villages, totaling about 170 hectares.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the directives of General Secretary To Lam and the Politburo, and requested ministries, sectors, and localities to promptly implement tasks immediately following the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Prime Minister requested that ministries, sectors, and localities, based on their assigned functions, tasks, and authority, proactively organize the implementation of tasks; strengthen inspection, supervision, and urging from the outset; and review key projects and works to promptly adjust and resolve difficulties and obstacles. The implementation process must ensure adherence to procedures, regulations, and authority, while also focusing on preventing and combating corruption, negative practices, and waste.
