(BNP) - On the occasion of the Great Vesak Festival Buddhist Calendar 2570 - Solar Calendar 2026, on the morning of May 30, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Thi Huong visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thich Thien Van, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province, along with other Buddhist dignitaries, and attended the Great Vesak Festival Buddhist Calendar 2570 at Vinh Nghiem pagoda, Tan An ward.

Informing about the socio-economic development situation of the province, she said that after nearly 01 year of operating under the new model, Bac Ninh achieved many outstanding results in various fields. The work of building the Party and the political system continued to be strengthened; the rearrangement and streamlining of the organizational apparatus and the operation of the 02-level local government ensured stability, smoothness, and efficiency.
The province successfully organized the Party Congresses at all levels, the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term; the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, contributing to consolidating the People's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State.
The economy continued to maintain a high growth rate, ranking among the leading localities in the country. The business investment environment was clearly improved; investment attraction, budget revenue, and import-export achieved many positive results. Cultural and social fields saw many changes, and the quality of education continued to be affirmed; social security was paid attention to, and the People's life was constantly improved. Belief and religious activities in the province took place in accordance with the law, contributing to maintaining political security, social order, and safety.

Informing about the development orientation in the coming time, she said that Bac Ninh was determined to achieve the goal of becoming a centrally run city before 2030. Currently, the province basically met the criteria according to regulations and was completing the dossier to report to the Central Government for consideration and guidelines.
She expressed her wish that the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province, Most Venerable Thich Thien Van along with monks, nuns, and Buddhists continue to promote the tradition of unity, attachment, and accompaniment with the locality; well implement the guidelines of the Party, policies, and laws of the State; actively propagate and implement the Law on Belief and Religion No. 07/2026/QH16 approved by the National Assembly on April 23, 2026, which takes effect from January 1, 2027. At the same time, continue to effectively participate in patriotic emulation movements and social security activities, and guide Buddhists to strictly comply with the provisions of law, contributing to building Bac Ninh province to be more and more civilized, rich, and beautiful.

At the same time, he expressed his joy at the outstanding achievements of Bac Ninh province over the past time, and highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the party committees and authorities at all levels in socio-economic development, caring for the People's life, and building the great national unity bloc.
Most Venerable Thich Thien Van wished the provincial leaders along with officials, civil servants, and public employees always good health and successful completion of their tasks; to continue leading Bac Ninh province to develop rapidly and sustainably, contributing to building the country of Vietnam to be more and more rich, powerful, and civilized; and at the same time wished that the province would continue to care about and create favorable conditions for Buddhist activities and the work of preserving and promoting the values of Buddhist heritage in the locality.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thien Van, Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province, Abbot of Vinh Nghiem Patriarchal Pagoda proclaimed the Vesak Message Buddhist Calendar 2570 of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The Message emphasized that the Vesak Festival was a sacred occasion to commemorate the birth of Gautama Buddha, and at the same time helped every follower of Buddha look back and more deeply understand the noble humanistic values from the life and teachings of the Buddha.

The Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha called on monks, nuns, and Buddhists to continue applying the Buddha's teachings into daily life, spreading love and the spirit of sharing, contributing to building an increasingly civilized and beautiful society.

Presenting the Vesak Speech Buddhist Calendar 2570 of the Most Venerable Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the representative of the provincial Buddhist Sangha affirmed that, experiencing more than two thousand years of accompanying the nation, Vietnamese Buddhism had always been closely attached to the cause of national construction and defense, promoting the spirit of "protecting the country and pacifying the people", and taking the service of human life as the guideline for religious practice. In the historical flow of the nation, Buddhism was not only a spiritual fulcrum but also contributed to nurturing the patriotic tradition, the spirit of solidarity, humaneness, and tolerance of the Vietnamese nation.

Within the framework of the Festival, the delegates along with venerable monks, nuns, Buddhists, and the People respectfully performed the rituals of offering incense, chanting sutras to celebrate the Buddha's birthday, and the traditional Buddha bathing ritual, praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and the People's peace and happiness./.
