(BNP) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Official Dispatch No. 3561/BCT-TMDT requesting Ministries, ministry-level agencies, government-attached agencies, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to coordinate in strengthening state management of e-commerce activities.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, e-commerce and business on digital platforms have continued to develop rapidly recently, with the emergence of many new, cross-border, multi-platform business models and deep application of digital technology. However, this field has also given rise to many issues such as the trade of counterfeit goods, imitation goods, and goods of unknown origin; commercial fraud; tax loss; violations of consumer rights protection; data leaks; and the exploitation of digital platforms to commit illegal acts.
To enhance the validity and efficiency of state management over e-commerce activities and synchronously implement the 2025 E-commerce Law, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requests Ministries and sectors to continue close coordination in management within their assigned fields; strengthen information exchange, early warnings, and coordination in handling violations in the cyber environment, especially acts of trading counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, commercial fraud, tax evasion, infringement of intellectual property rights, and violations of regulations on personal data protection and consumer rights.
At the same time, strengthen inspection, examination, and supervision of inter-provincial and cross-border e-commerce activities or those on multiple platforms; coordinate the connection, sharing, and synchronization of specialized data with the e-commerce activity management system of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to serve management, supervision, risk warning, and violation handling.
For the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requests the direction of Departments of Industry and Trade and functional agencies to strengthen management, inspection, and supervision of e-commerce activities according to their authority; proactively review and grasp the situation of e-commerce activities in their localities, especially livestream sales models, affiliate marketing, business via social networks, and business forms with a high risk of legal violations.
Localities are also required to strengthen inspection and handling of acts of trading counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, and commercial fraud in e-commerce activities; focus on reviewing warehouses, gathering points, transport units, and locations serving business activities in the digital environment. Simultaneously, promote propaganda and dissemination of laws on e-commerce, tax, and consumer rights protection to raise awareness and legal compliance responsibility of organizations and individuals participating in e-commerce activities./.
