(BNP) – On the afternoon of June 2, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thinh chaired a meeting to review the progress of compensation, support, resettlement, and site clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects.

Delegates attend the meeting.

To date, local authorities have disbursed approximately VND 3.363 trillion in compensation to nearly 6,760 households, covering 760.75 hectares of agricultural land, equivalent to 60.2% of the total land area subject to acquisition. The inventory and compensation process for residential land has been largely completed in Gia Binh, Luong Tai, and Nhan Thang communes. The relocation of graves has also been accelerated, with around 12,000 graves inventoried; many localities have completed or nearly completed compensation payments and relocation activities.

Resettlement areas, cemeteries, and supporting infrastructure projects are being actively implemented. Site clearance for the Gia Binh resettlement area has been completed, while the resettlement areas in Luong Tai and Trung Chinh have completed approximately 124 out of 239 hectares.

Regarding the road project connecting Gia Binh Airport with Hanoi Capital City (the section passing through Bac Ninh Province), local authorities have approved compensation plans for 191.5 hectares of land with a total budget exceeding VND 653 billion and have disbursed more than VND 622 billion to affected residents. By June 30, relevant agencies are expected to complete the required documentation and hand over approximately 220 hectares of cleared land for construction.

However, the projects continue to face challenges related to improperly allocated land, incomplete cadastral records, land-origin verification, and overlapping planning schemes.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh acknowledged the initial achievements and called on departments, sectors, and localities to strengthen responsibility, enhance coordination, accelerate site clearance efforts, and promptly address emerging issues.

He assigned relevant agencies to urgently finalize power supply plans for resettlement areas, complete the handover of land for power pole locations before June 15, and finish compensation for residential land within power transmission corridors before July 15. He also urged stakeholders to expedite administrative procedures, intensify public communication efforts, and build public consensus to ensure the projects progress on schedule.
