Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh visits and presents gifts to meritorious people

(BNP) - On the afternoon of July 16, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh visited and presented gifts to Ms. Nguyen Thi Them (wife of a martyr), Doi Soc quarter and war invalid Nguyen The Tho, Ao Sen quarter in Tu Son ward on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27 (1947-2025).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Them (born 1946) is the wife of martyr Nguyen Van Xuyen (who died in 1967 on the Southern Front).  She has no children and is currently living alone.  Over the years, she has always followed the Party's principles and policies, as well as the State's laws.

Mr. Nguyen The Tho (born in 1936) is a war invalid who was exposed to toxic chemicals. He fought to defend the Fatherland at the Quang Nam and Da Nang fronts. He was awarded the First, Second, and Third Class Medals of Glorious Soldier.

He expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of war invalids and martyrs’ relatives in the cause of national liberation. He wished that war invalids and martyrs’ relatives would continue to promote revolutionary traditions, maintain good health, uphold the spirit of “old age, bright example”, and encourage their children and grandchildren to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements in the locality.

He suggested that local Party committees and authorities continue to pay attention to caring for families of policy beneficiaries and people who have made revolutionary contributions, thereby contributing to ensuring social welfare in the area.

On this occasion, the Vice Chairman presents each meritorious person a gift worth VND 2 million.
