(BNP) - On the morning of July 21, at the Provincial Convention Center, the Bac Ninh Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization launched the 14th “Red Journey” campaign, honored outstanding voluntary blood donors in the province in 2026, and held a blood donation day in response to the campaign.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nghiem Xuan Huong present Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to outstanding collectives in the voluntary blood donation movement in 2026.
The program was attended by Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization; Mr. Nghiem Xuan Huong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Tran Thi Van, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; representatives from the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; leaders of provincial departments, agencies and localities; representatives of companies, enterprises and sponsoring partners, together with 120 outstanding delegates representing 316 collectives, families and individuals honored for their exemplary contributions to blood donation in 2026.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi said that the voluntary blood donation movement in the province has grown strongly in recent years, attracting broad participation from cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, Youth Union members, young people, pupils, students and people from all walks of life.
In 2025, Bac Ninh organized 91 blood donation events and collected more than 52,800 units of blood, reaching 123% of the target assigned by the National Steering Committee. In the first six months of 2026, the province held 61 blood donation events and collected more than 38,200 units, fulfilling 84% of the annual target. The 2026 “Red Journey” campaign aims to mobilize 13,600 units of blood, while building a reserve force of blood donors and a pool of people with rare blood types who are ready to donate when needed.

To ensure the sustainable development of the voluntary blood donation movement, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi asked the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization to closely coordinate with provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations and localities to effectively organize blood donation campaigns, particularly during periods of high demand for blood. He also called for stronger communications, recognition and replication of exemplary models and individuals; improved quality of blood donation events; and enhanced safety and convenience to build confidence among donors.
At the event, the Central “Red Journey” Organizing Committee presented a commemorative flag and the “Red Journey” emblem to the Bac Ninh Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization. On this occasion, 316 outstanding collectives, families and individuals who have made exemplary contributions to blood donation advocacy, mobilization and direct blood donation to save lives were commended and honored.
The 2026 blood donation day in response to the “Red Journey” campaign aims to attract around 2,000 participants and is expected to collect at least 1,200 units of blood./.
