(BNP) - On the occasion of the Great Birthday of Buddha, Buddhist Era 2570 - Calendar Year 2026, on the morning of May 15, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung - Deputy Dharma Lord and General Secretary of the Sangha Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, abbot of Ham Long pagoda.

Accompanying were representative leaders from several provincial departments, boards, and sectors, as well as leaders of Nam Son ward.
Receiving the delegation were Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung, Deputy Dharma Lord and General Secretary of the Sangha Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, abbot of Ham Long pagoda; and Venerable Thich Thanh Trung, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province.
During the visit, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan provided a general overview of the province's socio-economic development following the merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces. He emphasized that the unification of the two localities opened up new development spaces with many potentials and advantages; the scale of the economy continued to remain among the top in the country, with a population reaching nearly 5 million people, creating a favorable foundation to attract investment and promote comprehensive development.

The Vice Chairman stated that although the process of implementing the two-level local government model and merging administrative units still faced many difficulties, up to then, the activities at the provincial and communal levels had gradually stabilized and achieved many positive results. Many large projects and new development drivers were being implemented, contributing to the province's socio-economic growth.
He recognized and sincerely thanked the contributions of Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung and the Provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, along with Venerable Thich Thanh Trung and the monks, nuns, and Buddhists of Ham Long pagoda, for accompanying the local Party committees and authorities, actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, social security, and building the great national unity bloc.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his wish that Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dung, Venerable Thich Thanh Trung, and the Provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha would continue to care, accompany, and mobilize monks, nuns, and Buddhists to promote the tradition of "protecting the nation and settling the people," contributing to the increasingly developed construction of Bac Ninh province.
