(BNP) - On the afternoon of April 24, at the Kinh Bac Cultural Center, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize the “FDI Connect 2026” forum with the “Towards sustainable global supply chains” theme.

This was a practical activity aimed at contributing to the goal of 10% GDP growth in 2026, turning Vietnam into a regional high-tech hub, and affirming Bac Ninh as one of the country's leading magnets for FDI.

In his opening remarks, President of VCCI Ho Sy Hung emphasized that organizing the event in Bac Ninh province, one of the dynamic industrial centers and a national leader in attracting foreign direct investment, held special significance, demonstrating a spirit of substantive cooperation, with businesses at the center of service and development companionship.
According to the President of VCCI, the forum was an important bridge helping domestic and foreign business communities meet, exchange information, and seek opportunities for cooperation in investment, production, and business; contributing to the formation and development of a transparent, effective, stable, and sustainable investment ecosystem in Vietnam. It was also a space for strategic dialogue between state management agencies, localities, investors, and the business community. This was where economic entities shared development visions, connected resources, removed difficulties, and created new growth drivers for the coming period.

In his welcoming speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son emphasized that Bac Ninh province was currently one of the leading localities in attracting and effectively utilizing foreign investment capital. The FDI sector played a key role in the province's economy, contributing significantly to GRDP growth with an increase of 10.27% in 2025 and 9.82% in the first quarter of 2026; accounting for a large proportion of export turnover and creating jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers.
To date, the province had attracted 3,500 FDI projects from 46 countries and territories with a total registered capital of over 49 billion USD. In 2025 alone, Bac Ninh attracted 5.73 billion USD, ranking second in the country; in the first quarter of 2026, it continued to reach 1.2 billion USD, maintaining its position in the leading group. Notably, many international corporations had chosen Bac Ninh for investment such as Samsung, Foxconn, VSIP, Amkor, Luxshare, etc. which were still expanding their investment scale in Bac Ninh.
Affirming that the achieved results were the clearest evidence of Bac Ninh province's effective investment environment, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also shared the province's development orientation in the new period. He emphasized that Bac Ninh was determined to shift strongly towards selective investment attraction, taking quality, efficiency, and sustainability as the top criteria. In particular, the province aimed to become a centrally-run city before 2030, with a vision to become a leading electronics and semiconductor industrial center in the country, and by 2050, a model of a green, civilized city with a deep Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac cultural identity, a livable city in Asia.

To realize the set goals, Bac Ninh province was focusing on synchronously completing the strategic infrastructure system, especially regional transport infrastructure, next-generation industrial zones, logistics and digital infrastructure, establishing a Free Trade Zone along with many key projects such as Gia Binh International Airport, roads connecting to Hanoi capital, Ring Road 4 and Ring Road 5, international railway lines through Bac Ninh, high-speed rail, waterways, etc. thereby contributing to expanding development space and enhancing local competitiveness.
Regarding administrative reform, the province continued to implement the “Green Lane” mechanism in handling investment procedures, ensuring transparency, convenience, and speed so that projects could soon go into operation. Along with that, with the presence of many universities, colleges, and vocational education institutions, Bac Ninh provided a stable source of trained labor, especially high-quality skilled labor.
With the “Taking people and businesses as the service center, the People as the subjects of enjoyment, the State playing the role of development architect” and “The success of the business is also the success of the province, the difficulty of the business is also the difficulty of the province” mottos, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Bac Ninh province always accompanied, shared, and grows sustainably with businesses.

At the forum, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Board Nguyen Duc Hien delivered orientations and suggested several key issues to continue attracting and developing FDI sectors in Vietnam in general and in Bac Ninh in particular. Among them, he emphasized solutions for the synchronous development of the ecosystem, foreign investment, and a strong shift in mindset from attracting FDI capital by quantity to high quality and developing a national strategic investment platform. Along with that, he stressed the close linkage between FDI enterprises and domestic enterprises to enhance the endogenous capacity and resilience of domestic businesses.
Continue to reform institutions and policies substantively, create a transparent, stable, and more competitive investment environment in the context of fierce competition between countries. Simultaneously, focus on developing high-quality human resources to attract new-generation FDI through mechanisms, policies, and preparation of housing infrastructure conditions, etc.
The Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Board emphasized that the Party and State of Vietnam were always steadfast and consistent in the view of creating favorable, transparent, and effective attraction for the business community, including FDI enterprises. He called on FDI enterprises to continue to trust in Vietnam's innovation and economic development process in general as well as in localities, including Bac Ninh, for long-term commitment.

After the plenary session, two high-level dialogue sessions took place with the themes “Repositioning the Supply Chain; Breaking through Endogenous Capacity to Attract New Capital Flows” and “Upgrading Vietnamese Enterprises to Become Tier-1 Suppliers in the FDI Value Chain”. During these, delegates participating in the dialogue emphasized key contents regarding strategies to participate more deeply in the global value chain from assembly to innovation; breakthroughs in industrial infrastructure for new-generation FDI; investing in the development of smart green tech industrial ecosystems and providing integrated production services.
Along with that, they focused on analyzing the FDI - local enterprise cooperation model; sharing secrets to becoming a Tier-1 supplier; upgrading Vietnamese enterprises in the renewable energy industry supply chain and stability, transparency, etc.
