(BNP) - According to a report by the Department of Internal Affairs of Bac Ninh province, from 2024 to the present, the management of labor, employment, foreign workers, and workers going abroad under contract in the province has achieved many positive results, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and international integration.
Workers from other provinces account for approximately 390,000 people, accounting for 47% of the total number of workers employed in businesses in the province.
Currently, the province has 52,290 registered businesses, of which about 39,800 are operating, employing approximately 830,000 workers. Industrial parks alone attract about 570,000 workers. Migrant workers from other provinces account for approximately 390,000 people, equivalent to 47% of the total workforce employed in businesses in the province.
Workers in foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) account for the highest percentage at 73.6%, mainly concentrated in the manufacturing and assembly of electronic components. The quality of the workforce is increasingly improving, basically meeting the requirements of modern industrial production.
Along with the strong development of the FDI sector, the number of foreign workers in Bac Ninh has also increased rapidly. As of the end of May 2026, the province had approximately 3,085 businesses employing over 32,460 foreign workers. Of these, 29,114 people had been granted, re-granted, or had their work permits extended, accounting for nearly 90% of the total foreign workers in the province.
From 2023 to the present, authorities have issued, reissued, and extended over 61,100 work permits for foreigners; and revoked 16,638 permits in accordance with regulations.
In the field of sending workers abroad under contract, from 2024 to the end of May 2026, the entire province will have 19,712 workers going to work abroad. Taiwan (China) is the market receiving the most workers with 12,331 people, accounting for 62.6%; followed by Japan with 5,605 people and South Korea with 1,089 people.
The average income of workers working abroad ranges from 20 to 45 million VND/month depending on the market. Among them, workers in South Korea have the highest income, approximately 45 million VND/month.
To support workers, from 2024 to May 2026, the Provincial Branch of the Social Policy Bank provided loans totaling over VND 19.1 billion to 224 workers going to work abroad under contract. Simultaneously, relevant agencies directly supported 34 workers eligible for social policies with a total funding of over VND 292 million.
