Kim Thieu communal house historical and cultural relic

(BNP) - Built during the Le Trung Hung period on a large scale, having undergone many restorations and embellishments, Kim Thieu communal house (Huong Mac ward, Tu Son city) still retains its unique ancient architecture and was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic in 2011.


 

Kim Thieu communal house worships the village's tutelary god, Mr. Trinh Khac Minh, a native of Tong Son, Thanh Hoa. The village's tutelary god Trinh Khac Minh is a human who has assisted the people and the land by assisting Emperor Gian Dinh Tran Quy Ngoi and Tran Quy Khoang in their fight against the invading Ming army.

The communal house gate was built on a large scale in the traditional, ancient style.


 

Kim Thieu communal house was built on an area of nearly 2,000 square meters, including the Front Ceremonial Hall and the Great Hall. The Front Hall is made of ironwood.


 

The Great Hall is built in the shape of the Chinese “Dinh” letter, consisting of 3 compartments, 2 wings, 4 elegant curved roofs.

On both sides of the Great Hall are a pair of green stone dragons.

 

Currently, the communal house still preserves many valuable ancient artifacts such as: incense table, dragon pavilion, eight treasures, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, worship cranes...

Every year, local people hold a communal house festival, which is also a quarter festival, taking place from January 12 to 15 (lunar calendar) to commemorate the merits of their ancestors.


 

Kim Thieu Communal House was ranked as a Provincial Historical - Cultural Relic according to Decision No. 55/QD-UBND, dated January 18, 2011.
