(BNP) - On the occasion of the 114th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu on July 9th (1912 - 2026), on the morning of July 9th, a delegation of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, and Delegation of National Assembly Deputies led by Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, offered incense at the Nguyen Van Cu Memorial Area (Phu Khe Ward).

Joining the delegation were Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Tran Thi Van, Provincial Party Committee Member and Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, several provincial departments and agencies, Phu Khe Ward; and representatives of the family of Comrade Nguyen Van Cu. Teachers and students of Nguyen Van Cu High School.
Here, delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu - a staunch communist soldier, an outstanding leader of the Party, an exemplary disciple of President Ho Chi Minh, and an outstanding son of Bac Ninh province.

Comrade Nguyen Van Cu was born on July 9, 1912, in Phu Khe village, Nghia Lap commune, Dong Ngan district, Tu Son prefecture (now Phu Khe ward, Bac Ninh province) into a family with a tradition of patriotism.
He embraced the revolutionary cause at an early age, joining revolutionary activities in his youth before becoming a member of the Indochinese Communist Party. Through years of arduous revolutionary struggle, he distinguished himself as a steadfast revolutionary with unwavering political conviction, keen intellect, unwavering dedication and an unyielding commitment to the cause of national independence and the well-being of the people.
In March 1938, at the age of just 26, Nguyen Van Cu was elected General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to strengthening the Party's organizational structure, safeguarding its revolutionary line, and reinforcing unity and solidarity within both the Party and the revolutionary movement.

His renowned work, Self-Criticism, remains an important theoretical contribution, reflecting his progressive thinking, open-minded approach and strong emphasis on the principles of self-criticism and criticism—one of the fundamental principles of Party building that continues to hold enduring significance today.
Paying tribute to the late General Secretary, provincial leaders and delegates pledged their unwavering loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and the people. They reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the tradition of solidarity, innovation and creativity while building a clean and strong provincial Party organization and a streamlined, effective and efficient political system.

They also pledged to continue building a strong, comprehensive armed force, firmly safeguarding national defence and security, and striving to successfully achieve the province's socio-economic development goals, thereby contributing to the country's efforts to build and firmly defend the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
Following the incense-offering ceremony, the delegation visited the preserved ancestral house and the exhibition showcasing documents and artefacts on the life and revolutionary career of late General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu in Phu Khe Ward.
