(BNP) - On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026), on the morning of April 28, a provincial leadership delegation led by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, visited and presented gifts from General Secretary and President To Lam and from the province to wounded and sick soldiers being cared for and nurtured at the Bac Ninh Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services. Participating in the delegation was Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan; along with representatives of leaders from several relevant departments, sectors, and units.

According to the report from the Bac Ninh Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services, the unit was a public non-business establishment under the Department of Home Affairs, with the function of caring for, nurturing, and treating severely wounded and sick soldiers, as well as organizing centralized nursing for people with meritorious services in the province. Currently, the center had a capacity of 144 hospital beds and was directly caring for and nurturing 12 severely wounded and sick soldiers with a working capacity reduction rate of 81% or higher.

In recent years, the center had continuously improved the quality of comprehensive care in terms of both material and spiritual aspects for people with meritorious services; fully and promptly implemented regimes and policies; focused on treatment, functional rehabilitation, and nutrition; and organized many cultural, artistic, and physical education and sports activities, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the subjects. Every year, the center served from 4,000 to more than 5,000 turns of people with meritorious services; in 2025 alone, it provided nursing for 4,674 people, reaching 100% of the plan. In 2026, after the reorganization of administrative units, the center was assigned to serve 11,366 turns of people with meritorious services and their relatives.

Speaking at the visit and gift-giving ceremony, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, expressed deep gratitude for the great sacrifices and contributions of wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution in the cause of struggling for independence and national reunification. She affirmed that the 1975 Spring Victory was a brilliant milestone in the nation's history, demonstrating the wise leadership of the Party, the spirit of national solidarity, and the resilient will of generations of Vietnamese people.

Emphasizing the moral principles of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Gratitude," she stated that the gifts from the Party and State leaders were not only significant in terms of material value but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services across the country.

She also shared that in recent times, Bac Ninh province had always paid attention to the full and timely implementation of preferential regimes and policies; and had issued many specific mechanisms to improve the material and spiritual lives of people with meritorious services. "Gratitude" work was identified as a regular, important, and profoundly humane political task.

Highly appreciating the results achieved by the center, she requested the unit to continue improving the quality of comprehensive care, ensuring good living conditions, medical care, and functional rehabilitation for wounded and sick soldiers. At the same time, she requested all levels, sectors, and localities in the province to continue to pay attention to and better implement policies for people with meritorious services; and to promote the socialization of "gratitude" work, contributing to the increasingly better care for the material and spiritual lives of policy subjects.
