Standing Vice Chairman Mai Son works with Samsung Vietnam Group

(BNP) - On the afternoon of September 18, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son received and worked with Samsung Group led by Mr. Kim Yong Sup, Deputy General Director in charge of foreign affairs of Samsung Vietnam, on exchanges and cooperation in the field of information technology training and STEM methods.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kim Yong Sup expressed his sincere gratitude to the Bac Ninh provincial leader for their continuous support and favorable conditions that have enabled Samsung Vietnam to invest, produce, and conduct business effectively in the province.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kim Yong Sup, Deputy General Director in charge of external affairs of Samsung Vietnam, expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of Bac Ninh province for always paying attention and creating favorable conditions for Samsung Vietnam Group to invest, produce and do business effectively in the province.

Samsung Group's technology talent development program - Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) was deployed since 2019, providing technology capacity development courses for Vietnamese students, including: Internet of Things (IoT); Artificial Intelligence (AI); Big Data and Basic Programming skills courses. To date, the Program has had more than 12,000 students from schools across the country trained and developed high-tech capacity from Samsung Vietnam's SIC project.

In Bac Ninh province, Samsung Vietnam has deployed IOT courses through STEM education and implemented the "School of Hope - Samsung" program for a number of secondary and high schools in the province.

Mr. Kim Yong Sup expected the provincial leaders to facilitate and collaborate with Samsung to make plan to implement SIC courses in Bac Ninh for students at Bac Ninh College of Industry and Vietnam-Korea College of Technology.

In addition, Samsung Vietnam wanted to carry out IOT training for secondary and high school students through STEM-based education in Bac Ninh. If the plan goes smoothly, a pilot course is expected to run from late September until the end of this year.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Mai Son extended a warm welcome to the leadership of Samsung Vietnam and congratulated the company on its positive achievements in business and production.

Son said that Bac Ninh province is currently developing a project titled “STEM Education Development in Preschool and General Education Institutions in Bac Ninh province, period 2025–2030 with orientation toward 2035.” Once approved, the province will implement the project comprehensively across lower and upper secondary schools, while also strengthening facilities, teaching equipment, and organizing training and professional development programs for teachers in line with the STEM education approach.

The province wishes to establish a separate school of Samsung Vietnam Group to train high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of technological development trends in the process of international integration, he added.

In the forthcoming time, the province hoped that Samsung Vietnam Group would cooperate with the province in training students and teachers in information technology, semiconductor technology, and IOT at Bac Ninh Industrial College and Bac Giang Vietnam - Korea Technology College.
