Bac Ninh Farmers’ Association launches activities in response to World Environment Day 2026

(BNP) – On the morning of June 2, in Yen Dung Ward, the Bac Ninh Farmers’ Association held a ceremony to launch activities in response to World Environment Day 2026, while celebrating the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association for the 2026–2031 term.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Nguy Thi Tuyen, Provincial Party Committee Member, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of relevant departments and agencies of the province, Yen Dung ward, and a large number of local officials and farmer association members.

Speaking at the event, leaders of the Provincial Farmers’ Association emphasized the importance of environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development. In recent years, Farmers’ Association branches at all levels have effectively implemented various initiatives, including self-managed environmental protection groups, “Bright–Green–Clean–Beautiful Farmers’ Roads,” household organic waste classification and treatment, collection of pesticide packaging, and the use of biological products in agricultural production.

The Association called on officials and members to further raise awareness and change behaviors that negatively impact the environment. It also encouraged greater efforts in environmental sanitation, waste collection, tree planting, waste segregation at source, reducing single-use plastics, and expanding ecological and circular agriculture models.

At the ceremony, the Provincial Farmers’ Association donated 200 waste bins to farmers in Yen Dung Ward to support waste sorting at source. Delegates also participated in tree-planting activities, while more than 200 officials and association members joined an environmental cleanup campaign, collecting waste in residential areas, irrigation canals, and agricultural fields.

On this occasion, the provincial Farmers’ Association also directed its grassroots branches to simultaneously organize activities in response to World Environment Day and the 2026 Month of Action for the Environment throughout the province.
