(BNP) - The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son has just signed Directive No. 06/CT-UBND on the implementation of a high-intensity campaign to attack and suppress crime and ensure security and order to serve the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, and other major national and local events and early year festivals.

Accordingly, the Chairman requested the entire province to launch a high-intensity campaign to combat and suppress crime from December 12, 2025 to March 16, 2026. Departments, agencies, and localities must organize widespread public awareness campaigns and closely coordinate in crime and social vice prevention; ensure security and safety of offices, fire prevention and control, food safety and hygiene, etc.
The Provincial Public Security proactively monitors the situation and promptly handles any complex issues that arise. They strengthen the protection of key targets, political, economic, and social events, and people's Tet celebrations. They focus on suppressing criminal offenses, drug trafficking, illegal lending, crimes involving young people, and the use of firearms; preventing the formation of gangs and complex hotspots. They intensify the fight against online gambling and football betting; strictly handle violations related to the economy, environment, food safety, smuggling, and counterfeit goods. They strengthen traffic safety and fire prevention; and encourage the public to surrender weapons, explosives, supporting tools, and fireworks, especially during Tet.
The Departments of Industry and Trade, Health, Finance, and Culture, Sports and Tourism are strengthening inspections and handling violations in their respective areas of management. The Department of Education and Training is promoting legal education, managing problematic students, and preventing violations related to weapons, fireworks, and explosives. The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee is implementing drastic measures to reduce traffic accidents across all three criteria. The Provincial media outlets are increasing coverage of the peak period, commending good deeds and exemplary individuals, and warning about criminal tactics.
The Chairman requested the Procuratorate and the Court to closely coordinate with the Investigation Agency in prosecution and trial, selecting a number of key cases to serve the work of propaganda and deterrence of crime. The Fatherland Front and political and social organizations should strengthen the mobilization of members and the people to participate in detecting and reporting crimes.
The People's Committees of communes and wards will organize a ceremony to launch the crime crackdown campaign at 8:00 AM on December 12, 2025, while simultaneously strengthening the resolution of conflicts and disputes to prevent the emergence of security hotspots; tightening management of residence and foreigners; and ensuring safety at fireworks display locations and spring festivals. They will also emphasize the exemplary role of officials and Party members in complying with the law, contributing to maintaining security and order to serve important national events.
