According to the Department of Science and Technology, in the first three months of the year, 5G network coverage reached 92.12% of the province’s population. Telecommunications infrastructure continued to be invested in and expanded, with approximately 4,292 BTS stations, including 849 5G BTS stations. The Department also approved two additional locations for the construction and installation of new BTS stations, contributing to improved service quality and connectivity.

State management in the postal and telecommunications sectors had been strengthened. The Department provided feedback on planning compliance for 55 construction design dossiers of residential and urban areas, and issued 42 radio frequency usage licenses in accordance with regulations.

In addition, the Department proactively advised the Provincial People’s Committee to issue several important documents, including directives to accelerate 5G network deployment; a plan to promote and implement IPv6-only transition for the 2026–2030 period; and continued application of economic–technical norms in guiding, receiving, digitizing dossiers, and returning administrative procedure results through public postal services.

Efforts to ensure technical infrastructure, network safety, and information security were emphasized, effectively serving major political and cultural events during the Lunar New Year, early-year festivals, communication activities for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, as well as the ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate and the Bac Ninh Festival 2026.

In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology would continue to promote the development of modern telecommunications infrastructure, accelerate digital transformation, ensure information security, and improve the quality of postal and telecommunications services, contributing to the effective implementation of the province’s set objectives./.
