(BNP) - On the morning of May 3rd, at the Gia Binh Commune People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects.

Delegates attend the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong; and leaders of relevant departments, agencies, units, and localities.

By early May 2026, land clearance in Gia Binh commune had made notable progress. Authorities had approved compensation, support, and resettlement plans for agricultural land across multiple villages, while also expediting contract liquidation to ensure all land is handed over by May 15, 2026.

For residential land, 258 handover applications were recorded. Many households voluntarily dismantled structures, accepted compensation, and transferred their land, helping accelerate the overall clearance process.

During the meeting, delegates focused on analyzing the difficulties and obstacles in land clearance work, and proposed many solutions to accelerate the project's progress. Among these, major concerns centered on land ownership issues, especially cases of land allocation without proper authority, and inconsistent documentation, which hinders verification and compensation planning.

Delegates also proposed accelerating the construction of infrastructure in resettlement areas; promptly restoring public facilities such as schools, cultural centers, temples, and pagodas; and providing specific guidance on the liquidation of public assets and demolition of structures in accordance with regulations. For specialized structures, they requested the early issuance of unit prices and cost estimates as a basis for compensation.

On the investors' side, business representatives also highlighted some difficulties they are facing, such as completing documentation and data; sourcing materials, etc.

Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong speaks at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong urged departments, agencies, and investors to urgently finalize legal documents and procedures. He emphasized the need to develop detailed, task-specific plans with clear timelines and responsibilities, conduct weekly progress reviews, and prioritize the resolution of outstanding issues.

Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh speaks at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh called on relevant units to proactively review and propose early licensing for eligible mines, while applying flexible management measures to ensure a stable supply of materials. He also urged investors to accelerate infrastructure construction in resettlement areas and adopt suitable solutions for material transportation. At the same time, local authorities were asked to ensure timely compensation payments, complete the review of obstacles related to agricultural land, and decisively resolve outstanding issues concerning residential land, agricultural land, and past violations.

Chairman Pham Hoang Son delivers the concluding remarks at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Pham Hoang Son requested that departments, agencies, and localities enhance their sense of responsibility, strengthen coordination, and avoid any procrastination or delays; expedite the circulation, appraisal, and approval of dossiers to shorten implementation time.

The Chairman requested that the entire political system focus intensely and act decisively, using concrete results as a measure; with the focus on completing the approval of compensation plans, making timely payments, and organizing the resettlement lottery, creating clear progress and ensuring the implementation of key national projects.
