(BNP) - According to information from the Department of Education and Training, at the 2026 International Biology Olympiad (IBO), Bac Ninh province has two outstanding students who won Silver Medals.

These are Phung Quang Hung and Than Duc Chinh, 12th-grade students from Bac Giang Specialized High School. Previously, at the 2025-2026 National Excellent Student Selection Exam, Than Duc Chinh won first prize in Biology; Phung Quang Hung won second prize in Biology.
The results of these two Bac Ninh students contribute to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese team at the 2026 International Biology Olympiad. Specifically, all four students in the Vietnamese team participating in the exam won Silver Medals. Besides the two contestants from Bac Ninh, the other two contestants are from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students.
The 37th International Biology Olympiad was held in Lithuania from July 12th to July 19th, 2026, with the participation of teams from many countries around the world.
The achievements of the Vietnamese team at the 2026 International Biology Olympiad further affirm the quality of advanced education, the learning and research capabilities of Vietnamese students on the international stage. In particular, the achievements of the two students from Bac Ninh province are not only a source of pride but also contribute to encouraging the spirit of learning and scientific research among students in the province, while creating motivation for future generations of students to continue striving for higher achievements in international competitions.
