Delegation of Bac Ninh province visits and works with Vietnamese Embassy in Canada

(BNP) - A delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada to strengthen investment and trade promotion, connect exports, and promote international cooperation with the country.

As part of a working visit to the United States and Canada from May 18–27, on May 21, a delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies visited and worked with the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Pham Vinh Quang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada, along with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese Trade Office in Canada.

During the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong thanked the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada for supporting the delegation and provided a general overview of Bac Ninh province's socio-economic development in recent years.

She stated that, following the administrative reorganization, Bac Ninh has continued to maintain positive growth, sustaining its economic scale, leading the country in export turnover, and becoming an attractive destination for foreign investors; gradually affirming its position as a dynamic growth pole and the "industrial capital" of the Northern region.

She expressed her hope to continue receiving the attention and support of the Vietnamese Embassy and Trade Office in Canada in connecting and introducing Canadian businesses to explore investment opportunities in the locality.

Bac Ninh province requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada to continue supporting and promoting cooperation in education and training of high-quality human resources; connecting and expanding cooperative relations between Bac Ninh and Canadian localities; and supporting the promotion and expansion of markets for lychees and other key agricultural products of the province in Canada and North America.

Currently, Canada has 7 investment projects in Bac Ninh with a total registered capital of nearly USD 27 million. Trade relations between Bac Ninh and Canadian partners continue to develop positively, with import and export turnover reaching over 410 million USD in 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang highly appreciated the socio-economic development achievements of Bac Ninh province in recent years, affirming that Canada always values its relationship with Vietnam and regards Vietnam as one of its leading partners in the ASEAN region.

The Ambassador also stated that the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada stands ready to accompany and support Bac Ninh province in investment promotion, business connectivity, and the promotion of the province’s distinctive agricultural products and development potential.

Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang shared information on market policies, human resource training, and appropriate cooperation mechanisms to help Bac Ninh province and local businesses access the Canadian market more effectively.

He affirmed that the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada and the Vietnamese Trade Office in Canada are always ready to accompany and support investment promotion activities and strengthen cooperation between localities and businesses, amid the increasingly positive development of Vietnam–Canada relations.

The Ambassador also noted that Canada is a member of many major economic cooperation mechanisms and, together with Vietnam, participates in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, creating favorable conditions for expanding trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. On that basis, he expressed his desire to work closely with Bac Ninh province to effectively tap its potential and advantages in attracting Canadian investment capital.

At the same time, the Ambassador and the Vietnamese Trade Office in Canada proposed that Bac Ninh coordinate investment and trade promotion activities to further introduce the province’s image, products, and unique cultural values to Canadian partners, businesses, and consumers.

On this occasion, the leaders of Bac Ninh province presented the Ambassador and the Embassy with souvenirs reflecting the local culture, including Dong Ho folk paintings that have been recognized by UNESCO.
