(BNP) - On the afternoon of May 27th, Mr. Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, held a working session with the Standing Committee of the Party Committees of 11 communes and wards in Luc Ngan district and Chu town.

During the meeting, local authorities raised a number of proposals, including supplementing personnel for the education and healthcare sectors; supporting investment in transport infrastructure and the construction of bridges and culverts for local residents; providing guidance on multi-purpose land use; improving lychee quality; and planning industrial parks and clusters in Luc Ngan to create jobs and enhance local incomes.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Pham Hoang Son highly appreciated the proactive and decisive efforts of the 11 communes and wards in implementing tasks following the adoption of the two-tier local government model, and basically agreed with the recommendations and proposals put forward by the localities.
Regarding the proposals raised by local authorities, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that supporting the construction of inter-hamlet and inter-commune roads is a key priority. Newly built roads will be designed to meet at least mountainous level-IV standards, while localities that proactively carry out land clearance will be prioritized for early implementation. The province also agreed in principle to assign communes and wards as investors for the construction of bridges and culverts serving local residents.
He directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to provide guidance on issues related to agricultural production and coordinate research on improving lychee quality, while noting that the province would consider supplementing staffing in necessary cases.

Regarding the planning of industrial clusters, the province is finalizing planning adjustments with the goal of developing industrial clusters in communes to attract investment, create jobs, promote socio-economic development, and improve living standards for people in mountainous areas.

Concluding the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Viet Oanh requested that localities focus on investing in and completing the transportation infrastructure system to create favorable conditions for attracting investment and developing tourism. He also emphasized that, in addition to tourism development, highland communes need to focus on developing agriculture and forestry; promoting research and application of science and technology in production to improve productivity, quality, and value of agricultural products, especially lychees.

During the working visit, the delegation visited the lychee orchard of Mr. Tran Van Bon's family in Ben Huyen village, Nam Duong commune. The orchard covers over 2 hectares, with an estimated yield of over 10 tons; the entire area is cultivated according to VietGAP standards. Currently, the lychees are being sold at a price of over 50,000 VND/kg.
