(BNP) - On September 27, in Thuan Thanh ward, the Provincial People's Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for package No. 07: Construction and equipment of Ngo Xa Pumping Station, part of component project No. 3: Repair and upgrade of Bac Hung Hai system, phase 2, Bac Ninh province. This is one of the projects to welcome the First Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

The Bac Hung Hai irrigation system is a key project, playing a particularly important role in supplying water for agricultural production, draining water for residential and industrial areas of the three provinces of Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Hai Phong. However, after many years of exploitation and operation, some items of the system have degraded and can no longer meet the current development requirements.

The implementation of the Bac Hung Hai system repair and upgrade project is extremely necessary and urgent to ensure water security, improve production efficiency, and contribute to sustainable socio -economic development for the entire region as well as the three provinces.
The construction and equipment project of Ngo Xa Pumping Station has a total expenditure of around VND 240 billion from the province capital and the central budget It is scheduled to be finished in February 2028. After being upgraded, Ngo Xa Pumping Station will increase its pumping and drainage capacity, proactively prevent flooding, and provide timely and effective irrigation water for approximately 110,000 hectares and drain water for 192,045 hectares of cultivated land in the basin, thereby improving the water environment for the Bac Hung Hai irrigation system.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi sincerely thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for its attention and support; and acknowledged the participation of departments, branches, localities, and investors in the process of preparing for the project investment.
He affirmed that this is a project of great importance for the development of agricultural infrastructure, serving the needs of the people, and has been paid attention to and selected by the Bac Ninh provincial government as the project to carry out the groundbreaking ceremony to welcome the 1st Bac Ninh Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030; demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and aspiration to rise of the Party Committee, government and people of the whole province in the new development period.

In order for the project to be completed on schedule, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi requested the Management Board of Bac Ninh Province's Traffic and Agriculture Project No. 2 and the contractor to urgently mobilize human resources, equipment, and organize construction to ensure the progress and quality of the project; departments and branches continue to support and guide the investor to implement the project effectively and in accordance with regulations; Thuan Thanh and Mao Dien wards to strengthen propaganda about the importance of the project, actively coordinate with the investor and contractor so that the project can be implemented on time as prescribed.
The Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to continue to pay more attention to the projects of Bac Ninh province in general and the Bac Hung Hai system in particular, especially projects related to the dyke and irrigation sectors of Bac Ninh province. At the same time, regularly pay attention to and check the progress of the Ngo Xa Pumping Station project and the Bac Hung Hai canal system to direct the investor to promptly adjust and resolve problems arising during the project construction.
