(BNP) - From May 23 to 26, a Bac Ninh provincial leader led by Mr. Tran Huy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, paid a working visit to the Czech Republic.

Also attending the meetings were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Xuan Loi; Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Ha; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Anh Tuan.

During the visit and working session in Cheb City, Deputy Secretary Tran Huy Phuong expressed appreciation for the warm reception from the city’s leaders and voiced his admiration for the Czech Republic’s historical and cultural traditions, as well as its harmonious development model combining heritage preservation with innovation.
Providing an overview of the province’s socio-economic development, the Deputy Secretary stated that Bac Ninh is one of Vietnam’s most dynamic industrial centers, ranking among the country’s leading localities in economic scale and foreign direct investment attraction. Cultural and social sectors continue to develop strongly, with many UNESCO-recognized heritage elements, stable security and social order, and an average per capita income reaching USD 5,852.

On behalf of Bac Ninh province, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi and Cheb Mayor Ing. Jan Vrba signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening delegation exchanges and promoting cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, sports, tourism, education and training, and people-to-people exchange.
As the Czech Republic is currently facing labor shortages, Bac Ninh proposed enhanced cooperation with Cheb City in labor export activities, while also expressing its hope that the city would support educational cooperation and create favorable conditions for Bac Ninh students to access modern education, particularly in high-tech and healthcare sectors.

The two localities agreed to strengthen cultural, artistic, sports, and people-to-people exchanges, and establish mechanisms for organizing alternating exchange activities during festivals and cultural events. Cheb City also pledged to create favorable conditions for the Bac Ninh community living, studying, and working in the Czech Republic.
Welcoming the Bac Ninh delegation, Cheb Mayor Ing. Jan Vrba highly appreciated the province’s development achievements and expressed confidence that the signing of the memorandum would open up more opportunities for cooperation in economy, culture, vocational training, and employment, thereby contributing to the growing Vietnam–Czech Republic Strategic Partnership.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality of Cheb City’s leaders and Mayor Ing. Jan Vrba, Deputy Secretary Tran Huy Phuong expressed his hope that cooperation between the two localities would continue to flourish, and respectfully invited the Mayor and a Cheb delegation to visit and work in Bac Ninh in the near future.
Mayor Ing. Jan Vrba thanked the leaders of Bac Ninh province for the invitation, gladly accepted it, and assigned relevant city agencies to arrange an appropriate time for a visit to Bac Ninh.

Along with the central government, Bac Ninh province has consistently regarded overseas Vietnamese as an inseparable part of the nation, while implementing many activities to strengthen ties between expatriates and their homeland and creating favorable conditions for them to explore cooperation and investment opportunities and contribute to the province’s socio-economic development.

On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Secretary Tran Huy Phuong thanked Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam and Embassy staff for their continued support for the Vietnamese community and the Bac Ninh Fellow-countrymen Association, while expressing his hope that the Ambassador would continue serving as a bridge to promote cooperation and people-to-people exchange between Bac Ninh and Czech localities.
The Deputy Secretary extended his greetings and best wishes to the overseas Vietnamese community and affirmed that the meeting was a meaningful occasion for provincial leaders to listen, share, and strengthen ties between the homeland and Bac Ninh people abroad.

Sharing highlights of Bac Ninh’s socio-economic achievements, the Deputy Secretary affirmed that the province’s successes have been significantly supported by overseas Bac Ninh people, including those in the Czech Republic, through investment activities, economic support, and charitable contributions, helping build an increasingly prosperous and civilized homeland.

The Czech Republic is home to a large Vietnamese community, officially recognized by the Czech Government as an ethnic minority, with significant contributions to the host country as well as to the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic. Tran Huy Phuong expressed his hope that the nearly 2,000 Bac Ninh people living in the Czech Republic would continue promoting solidarity, preserving cultural identity, teaching Vietnamese to younger generations, and building the Fellow-countrymen Association into a “common home” connecting the Bac Ninh community in the Czech Republic.
