(BNP) – On the afternoon of May 22, at Dai Thanh Pagoda, a delegation from Bac Ninh province led by Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and extended congratulations to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province and Venerable Thich Thanh Phung, Member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province, together with monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers across the province.

Joining the delegation were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao Quang Khai; Secretary of the Party Committee of Kinh Bac Ward Ta Dang Doan; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nghiem Xuan Huong.
At the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai extended his best wishes to monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers for a peaceful and joyful Vesak season. He also provided an overview of the province’s socio-economic development, highlighting that Bac Ninh recorded an economic growth rate of 9.84% in the first quarter of 2026, ranking among the fastest-growing localities nationwide.
The Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Bac Ninh province in promoting the tradition of “protecting the nation and serving the people,” fostering the spirit of “good life, beautiful faith,” and accompanying the locality in socio-economic development, social welfare activities, and building public consensus in the implementation of key projects.
He expressed his hope that the Executive Board of the Provincial Buddhist Association, along with the monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, would continue to promote the spirit of unity, actively propagate and encourage Buddhists to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. Participating in patriotic emulation movements contributes to maintaining political stability, social order and security, and building national unity.
On behalf of the Provincial Buddhist Association's Executive Board, Venerable Thich Thanh Phung expressed gratitude for the provincial leaders' attention; affirming that the Association will continue to guide monks, nuns, and Buddhists to uphold the patriotic tradition, actively participate in social welfare activities, and contribute to the development of Bac Ninh.
